Tropicana Cherry is a cross between Tropicana Cookies and Tropicana Cherry. It was bred by creatives over at Relentless genetics and, it was masterfully cultivated by the highly talented Tru|Med team. Now, if I am being honest anything Tropicana is already a no for me. However, when it comes to Tru|Med and Grow Sciences I am willing to try strains I normally would not. Sooo, let’s dive into this Tropicana Cherry shall we?
Looks and Presentation
Like any other strain put out by Tru, this Trop Cherry was a true beauty. The colors it displayed were a sight for sore eyes. What really stood out to me was the combination of the purple and green and the way they intertwined with each other was pleasing to say the least. The buds also looked as if they were dipped in a bowl of trichomes. The golden hairs the buds had gave them a very elegant vibe. All in all I can honestly say I was more than pleased with the looks and presentation of this strain.
Smell and Freshness

As I broke the buds down, I was able to get the full essence of the smell. At first, all I could pick up was the smell of Tropicana. If you are not familiar with that fragrance, it almost always smells like Tangie or Forbidden Fruit. For those of you that have not had either of the two, just imagine that when you smell the buds it smells exactly like an orange peel. I was immediately saddened by what I was smelling only because it is my least favorite terpene of them all. However, once I finished breaking all the buds down I noticed more than overbearing orange smell this strain gave off. With the addition of a mix between gas and cream, I was able to get over the disappointment I started to feel. Without being biased, I can safely say this strain earned a five in the looks and presentation category.
Taste
From the moment I sparked the blunt, the flavor tasted just as tropical as the smell was. However, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. As I continued to smoke, the overpowering taste of orange peel was starting to balance out. This was due to the addition of the cream flavored terpenes that started to give. If I am being honest, this strain reminded me a lot of the Orange Daiquiri that Grow Sciences grew. Even with my strong disliking of orange flavored terpenes, I could still say this strain passed in the flavor department. I could fairly say this Tropicana Cherry earned a 5 in the flavor category. That is due to the fact that the terpenes were stronger than my liking. However, I know there are some folks out there that really enjoy those flavors. If you are one of them be sure to add this strain to your list.
High
Based on how I was feeling, I could safely say this strain was sativa dominant. This was that good sativa though not the kind that made you feel all sketchy. I had the same energy I would have had if I were to down an energy drink. Yet, I felt as relaxed as I would have if I were smoking on the heaviest indica. The way these feelings worked with each other was magical. I was able to crush my deadlines without the feeling of anxiety hovering over me. It was quite refreshing and made me think about that strain was perfect for getting loads of work done in short periods of time. I can for sure say this strain was more than deserving of the five it was given.
All in all, I was very pleased with this strain. Even though I am not a fan of the primary terpene profile, this review is not about me. For those of you that do enjoy the orange flavored terpenes, this strain is definitely for you. If you are like me, I suggest you still give this strain a try. You honestly don’t know how much you either will or will not enjoy a strain until you try it yourself. If you can take one thing from me, it’s that I have been more surprised by strains I went into not liking.
